Make these easy Italian grinder sliders for your next party or game day. These baked slider sandwiches use deli meats and provolone cheese on soft Hawaiian rolls, finished with a savory garlic butter glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (12 count) package sweet Hawaiian rolls
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced ham
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced salami
  • 1/2 pound thinly sliced turkey
  • 1/2 pound provolone cheese, sliced
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Carefully slice the entire package of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected as much as possible. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Layer the meats and cheese evenly over the bottom half of the rolls. Start with ham, then salami, then turkey, and top with the provolone cheese slices.
  4. Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese layer.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and onion powder to create the glaze.
  6. Slowly and evenly pour the butter glaze mixture over the top of the assembled sliders. Use a pastry brush to gently spread the glaze across all the rolls.
  7. Cover the baking dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  8. Bake for 15 minutes covered.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and the tops of the rolls are golden brown.
  10. Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes before slicing them between the rolls. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a thin layer of mayonnaise or a splash of pepperoncini juice to the bottom rolls before adding the meat.
  • These are great for make ahead party food; assemble them completely, cover, and refrigerate for up to 4 hours before baking. Add 5-10 minutes to the initial covered baking time if baking straight from the refrigerator.
  • If you do not have Hawaiian rolls, use any soft slider bun, but the sweetness of the Hawaiian rolls complements the savory Italian flavors well.
