Ingredients
Scale
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
1/4 cup Greek yogurt (optional, for creaminess/protein)
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon sweetener (maple syrup or honey), adjust to taste
For Flavor 1 (Basic): 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
For Flavor 2 (Cinnamon Roll): 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon brown sugar
For Flavor 3 (Berry): 1/2 cup mixed berries (fresh or frozen)
For Flavor 4 (High Protein): Add 1 scoop vanilla or unflavored protein powder
For Flavor 5 (Brown Sugar): 1 tablespoon brown sugar, pinch of salt
Instructions
In five separate jars or containers, divide the rolled oats evenly (about 1/5 cup per jar).
In a separate bowl, mix the milk, chia seeds, vanilla extract, and sweetener. Whisk until combined.
Pour the liquid mixture evenly over the oats in each of the five containers.
Stir the contents of each jar well to ensure the oats and chia seeds are fully submerged.
Add the specific flavor ingredients to each jar: add cinnamon to Jar 1, cinnamon and brown sugar to Jar 2, berries to Jar 3, protein powder to Jar 4, and brown sugar/salt to Jar 5. Stir each jar individually.
If using Greek yogurt, stir 1 tablespoon into each jar now.
Seal the jars tightly and place them in the refrigerator for at least 6 hours, or preferably overnight.
In the morning, check the consistency. If too thick, add a splash more milk. Serve cold directly from the jar.
Notes
Use mason jars with tight-fitting lids for the best make-ahead storage.
For the highest protein content, use protein powder and Greek yogurt in the same batch.
If using frozen fruit, add it before soaking; it will thaw overnight and release juices.
If you prefer a sweeter result, add sweetener after soaking, as oats absorb sweetness overnight.
