Make fast and healthy salmon tacos using your air fryer. This recipe features seasoned salmon topped with a bright, zesty chipotle-lime slaw, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb salmon fillet, skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded green cabbage
  • 1/2 cup shredded red cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder (or to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey
  • 1 avocado, sliced (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the salmon cubes with olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Place the seasoned salmon in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
  4. While the salmon cooks, prepare the slaw. In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, lime juice, chipotle powder, and honey until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the green cabbage, red cabbage, and cilantro. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture and toss well to coat.
  6. Warm the tortillas according to package directions (you can warm them briefly in the air fryer basket after removing the salmon, or on a dry skillet).
  7. Assemble the tacos: place a portion of the cooked salmon into each warm tortilla, top with the zesty slaw, and add a few slices of avocado.

Notes

  • For a spicier slaw, add a dash of hot sauce to the dressing mixture.
  • If you do not have an air fryer, you can bake the salmon at 400°F for 12-15 minutes.
  • Serve these as salmon taco bowls by placing the salmon and slaw over a bed of brown rice or quinoa.
