Make a rich and creamy chocolate fondue easily using a slow cooker. This recipe is perfect for parties, date nights, or cozy gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 8 ounces milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon liqueur like Grand Marnier or Kahlua (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips, heavy cream, butter, and espresso powder (if using) into a small slow cooker.
  2. Set the slow cooker to low heat. Do not stir for the first 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to begin melting evenly.
  3. After 30 minutes, stir the mixture gently until it is completely smooth and velvety.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and your chosen liqueur (if using).
  5. Keep the fondue on the ‘Warm’ setting for serving. Stir occasionally.
  6. Serve immediately with your favorite dippers.

Notes

  • For a thicker fondue, reduce the heavy cream by 1/4 cup.
  • If you do not have a slow cooker, melt the chocolate and cream together over a double boiler until smooth.
  • Keep the heat setting low; high heat can cause the chocolate to seize or burn.
