Ingredients
Scale
12 large fresh jalapeños
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
12 thin slices bacon
Instructions
Cut the jalapeños in half lengthwise. Use a small spoon to carefully remove the seeds and white membranes. Wear gloves if you have sensitive skin.
In a medium bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, garlic powder, and black pepper until combined.
Spoon the cheese mixture evenly into each jalapeño half. Do not overfill.
Wrap one slice of bacon around the middle of each stuffed jalapeño half, securing the filling.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Arrange the poppers in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, until the bacon is crisp and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the air fryer and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For less heat, remove all white pith from the inside of the jalapeño.
If you prefer softer bacon, cook at 350°F (175°C) for 14 to 16 minutes.
You can prepare these poppers ahead of time, place them on a baking sheet, and freeze them. Cook from frozen, adding 3 to 5 minutes to the total cook time.
