Follow these steps to make crispy, flavorful cauliflower steaks coated in garlic and Parmesan cheese using your air fryer.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large head cauliflower
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cut the cauliflower head into two or three 1-inch thick slices from the center, keeping the core intact to hold the slices together. Reserve any remaining florets for another use.
  2. Brush both sides of each cauliflower steak lightly with olive oil.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the grated Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. Lightly press the Parmesan mixture onto both sides of the cauliflower steaks, ensuring an even coating.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C).
  6. Place the coated cauliflower steaks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, avoiding overlap. You may need to cook in batches.
  7. Air fry for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping the steaks halfway through the cooking time, until the cauliflower is tender inside and the coating is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and serve immediately.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, lightly spray the coated steaks with cooking spray before the first air fry cycle.
  • If the Parmesan starts to brown too quickly, reduce the temperature to 370°F (185°C) for the remainder of the cooking time.
  • You can substitute nutritional yeast for Parmesan cheese if you need a dairy-free option, though the texture will change.
