Cook frozen shrimp directly in your air fryer without thawing. This method delivers perfectly juicy, tender shrimp with crispy edges in under 15 minutes, seasoned with simple garlic butter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound frozen raw shrimp (peeled and deveined, tail on or off)
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Take your frozen shrimp straight from the freezer. Do not thaw them first.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the melted butter, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the frozen shrimp to the bowl and toss them until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mixture.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 390°F (200°C) for 3 minutes.
  5. Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Work in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding, which prevents crisping.
  6. Air fry for 8 minutes.
  7. Open the basket and shake the shrimp well to flip them.
  8. Continue to air fry for another 3 to 5 minutes, or until the shrimp are opaque and cooked through. Total cook time is usually 11 to 13 minutes.
  9. Remove from the air fryer, sprinkle with fresh parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Cooking time depends on the size of your shrimp; smaller shrimp cook faster.
  • For extra crispy results, you can spray the shrimp lightly with cooking spray before the final 3 minutes of cooking.
  • This recipe works well for a quick, low carb air fryer shrimp dinner or appetizer.
