Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
12 small corn or flour tortillas
For the Slaw:
2 cups shredded cabbage mix
1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons lime juice
1 tablespoon olive oil
Pinch of salt
Instructions
Pat the shrimp completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve crispiness.
In a medium bowl, toss the dried shrimp with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, minced garlic, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Arrange the shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary.
Air fry at 390 degrees F (200 degrees C) for 8 to 10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the shrimp are pink and slightly crispy.
While the shrimp cooks, prepare the slaw. Combine the shredded cabbage, cilantro, lime juice, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and a pinch of salt in a small bowl. Toss well.
Warm the tortillas according to package directions (you can warm them briefly in the air fryer or a dry skillet).
Assemble the tacos: place a portion of the crispy garlic shrimp onto each warm tortilla and top generously with the cilantro-lime slaw.
Notes
For extra crispiness, lightly dust the seasoned shrimp with 1 teaspoon of cornstarch before adding the oil and spices.
If you prefer a spicier taco, add 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the shrimp seasoning mix.
